Some verses of scripture are in need of embellishment :

1 Nephi 19:7

"They set him at naught, and hearken not," and end up tying their lives in knots.

2 Nephi 2:2

"He shall consecrate thine afflictions for thy gain," if we resist the urge to complain.

Jacob 3:1

"And he will console you in your afflictions," unless they come through your own addictions.
