AMAZING MORNING
I have an appointment to keep each morning with the sun. Depending upon the date, that appointment varies from 5:16 to maybe 7:30 a.m. I'm sitting in my living room watching the sun rise. From doing this same thing in previous years I know that on this morning, three days before the longest day of the year, that the first spark of the rising sun should appear on the right hand slope of China Cap peak at 5:17.
It's right on time, and right where it's supposed to be. Talk about regular. Talk about order.
Talk about beauty! The horizontal rays of the rising sun shine on the grass, revealing that every blade sports a drop of dew. Every drop is a shining diamond. I'm rich! The yellow roses beside the purple clematis just off the porch are spectacular in their iridescence. The whole world is spectacular.
In a few minutes I will go to the strawberry patch and pick a handful of berries to put on our breakfast oatmeal. Those berries are huge. They're red clear through, and amazingly flavorful. How blessed can we be?
My wife gets up and comes into the living room. She doesn't say a word. She just gives me a kiss and a hug. She loves me! And she's mine for eternity.
Is there anyone else in the world as blessed as I am?
I got up early to write some thoughts on Priesthood. I hold it. It's the authority to act in the name of God. I bear it. Me! Why me?
Six of my 56 grandchildren are sleeping upstairs. Talk about wealth! Happy and blessed is the man that has his quiver full of them.
What an amazing life. What an amazing world. What an amazing God. I owe everything to my Savior.
I've wanted to put an exclamation point beside every sentence that I've written. I am astonished.
