But She Is Pure!

With the whole world on lock down because of the COVID 19 pandemic we aren't allowed to go to church.  We have permission to hold sacrament meetings in our homes where we bless and pass the sacrament, and give talks in our families.

It was the privilege of my wife and I to attend one of these family sacrament meetings in our daughter's home.  It was a most memorable meeting--one of the best sacrament meetings that I've ever attended.

Their eldest daughter, Kami, was one of the speakers.  She gave a most inspiring and masterful talk upon which she had obviously spent much time in preparation.  Toward the end of the talk she said through Spirit-inspired tears, "I am far from perfect."

My mind added emphatically, "But she is pure!!"

We aren't called upon or expected to be perfect in this life, but we are expected to be pure.  And we can be.  This girl, and many youth like her, are just as pure as they can be.  They're trying to be worthy.  They are full of light, and that light is discernible by everyone.  That light makes the hard-hearted mad, but it is a beacon and a magnet to everyone else.
