Imitating Isaiah

"A commandment I give unto you that ye search these things diligently; for great are the words of Isaiah," the Lord said in 3 Nephi 23:1.

Isaiah's words truly are great.  They're filled with prophecies, many of which will not be fully understood until their fulfillment.  His words are also beautiful, and have a cadence unique to him.  Many of his verses are couplets that state the same thing twice, but with different words.  Could I write like Isaiah?  Here is my attempt:

Ye say that 2020 was a gruesome year, but I say wait a little.

Ye say that government has overstepped its bounds, but you do not fathom the depths of the evil among us.

Ye say that the Constitution is under attack, and truly the opening volley has been fired.

You know not the hearts of those who relish power, nor do you comprehend the hearts of those who despise order.

The father of lies is their leader; he is the author of their acts, and they know it not.

2020 was a shot across the bow; it was a warning and a prelude.

2020 was an invitation to stop, and to change course; it was a call to prepare; it was an opportunity to repent and to re-position.

The Lord of the universe has given a respite, He has granted a space for men to turn unto Him.

After the respite will come the cleansing, for the Lord will have a pure people.

Great and fair cities will be without inhabitant; desolation will come upon the wicked; sickness shall cover the land, and restless waters will overflow their shores and all their bounds.

Peace and protection will be found only among the righteous, for only with the Priesthood and with covenant keepers will safety lie.

Darkness will cover the shaking earth, fierce lightning will rend the skies, and hurricane winds will ravage the land.

Fire will take the wicked; but a glorious dawn awaits the pure.

The Son of righteousness will arise with healing in His wings.

Those who have waited and watched will bow the knee and be glad.  Their roots and their branches will be intact and expand to the utmost hills.  These shall dwell in peace, plenty, and safety.  Then shall come to pass the prophecy of Isaiah:

"For the Lord shall comfort Zion, he will comfort all her waste places; and he will make her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of the Lord.  Joy and gladness shall be found therein, thanksgiving and the voice of melody."  (2 Nephi 8:3).  "Therefore, with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation."  (2 Nephi 22:3).

For all this His anger shall be turned away, and His hand shall be stretched out still.

For one thousand years shall the world finally know peace.
