Irony
Incongruities, I see,
Are what give us irony.
Results that were expected,
Differ from those exacted.
For example:
Jesus gave His life for me,
That mine might last eternally.
This becomes ultimately,
The greatest incongruity.
He said that losing life for Him,
Means finding it again.
He that devotes life for Christ,
Is rewarded for his sacrifice.
If life is spent gath-ring things,
We miss the joys that life should bring:
For at the end of life’s short day,
We only keep what we gave away.
When we give love, there’s more to give;
When life is o’er, we’ll have just begun.
