James’ Formula for Being a Good College Student
- Pray over your schooling and before your tests, asking for help to remember what you’ve studied and what you’ve learned.
- Sit up front so that the instructor gets to know you, and so that you’ll resist any urges to fall asleep.
- Take complete notes of both the lectures and your reading. When exam time arrives, all you have to do to prepare is to read through your notes.
- No Sabbath day studying, except for your religion class.
- Treat school like an 8:00 to 5:00 job, using the free hours to study in the library. This eliminates burning the midnight oil; insures that you’re always rested, alert and energetic; and leaves the evening hours for spending quality time with family.
- Keep the commandments and do your church duties.
