The gospel of Jesus Christ gives me:

Stability

Direction

Hope

Knowledge

Wisdom

Ability

Strength

Lift

Light

Energy

Tranquility

Peace of conscience

Purpose

These were my thoughts as I arose this morning.  I later asked Marjorie to finish this sentence with one word:  “The gospel of Jesus Christ gives me ...”  Her first answer was the same as mine:

 

Stability.

She then said, “Purpose.”

She then said, “I just made a list yesterday which I keep adding to.”

She handed me the list, which reads as follows:

“I'm thankful for the gospel of Jesus Christ.  It is such a great blessing to belong to a church                     that is led by living prophets who receive continuing revelation.

It is so logical.

It assures us that life has a purpose.

It teaches us how to change.  How to repent.  How to serve.

The gospel gives us a sense of security.

It is the source of happiness.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is a latter-day miracle.

And just imagine, we can communicate with the God of the universe!  We are His children.

Because of the gospel we have the Holy Ghost to guide us and teach.

Because of the gospel we can be free from sin, error, and free from darkness.

The gospel gives us power to overcome our weaknesses.

It is the foundation of our homes, and has made all the difference.

Living the gospel is the key to happiness and joy.

The gospel of Jesus Christ is all about progression  We are to become better and better in               every aspect of our lives.  It is a daunting undertaking.  The Church gives us so many                  opportunities to teach, serve, and learn.  All of these experiences contribute to our              progression.

We have scriptures.  We have additional scripture that the rest of the world doesn't have.

Because of the gospel we can associate with like-minded people and learn from their                                 experiences as well as our own.

These things keep us growing in wisdom and knowledge and testimony.

The whole idea of Mormonism is improvement and becoming like our Heavenly Father.

And this is by no means everything.  I'm still adding to the list.  We are a blessed people!

I thought I might use this to bear my testimony.”  (Which she did very impressively on

1 May 2022.  As she began her testimony, she said, “Because I wanted to be grateful                     for each aspect of the gospel, I started a list I could refer to so I could increase my                  gratitude.  I thought I would share it with you.”)

People who reject Jesus Christ would have no idea what we're talking about.  What a pity.
