Mine Forever
Each morning sunrise is a treat and a blessing. Each is special. Each is different. God chooses different arrangements of the clouds and different colors. One morning may be red, another yellow or orange, and the next blue. The 34 peaks that are my eastern horizon are constant and always there, except when they're hidden by stormy days, or days when the valley is encased in fog. Each morning is spectacular. Each is worthy of my participation.
I have a date with the dawn. I have a date with God. What does He have in store for me today? What may I do for Him? Each day is different, and each is special. But some things, like my 34 mountain peaks, are always the same.
Last night's prayer was a special one. It was one of those rare ones that come through the Spirit and which teaches you. It had a title. The title was "Mine Forever." These things will not change.
I found myself thanking my Father in heaven that my wife was mine forever. My children and grandchildren are mine forever. My covenants are mine forever. The Priesthood with which I have been entrusted is mine forever. The scriptures and the knowledge they have given me are mine forever. My testimony is mine forever. My Savior and my relationship with Him are mine forever. Forever will I have the gift of the Holy Ghost, and the love of God. My marvelous body will be mine forever, and will be improved upon in the resurrection.
I thanked my Father in heaven, one by one, for each of these things that are mine forever. I was surprised that there are so many.
I could keep going. I will keep going. I love life. It is mine forever. God's promise for my eternal life is mine forever if I can be as constant as the mountains.
