More Thoughts on Covenants
This thought came to me during prayer last night:
The greatest and most important thing we can do with our lives is to make and keep covenants.
This morning I ask myself why?
- Covenants develop character.
- Covenants make things eternal.
- Covenants cut off problems.
- Covenants give direction.
- Covenants give purpose.
- Covenants make families eternal.
- Covenants prevent sin.
- Covenants negate Satan’s power.
- Covenants keep one clean.
- Covenants make one unselfish.
- Covenants are godmakers.
- Covenants assure joy.
- Covenants have been forgotten by the world. Satan successfully eliminated them from Christian thinking. The Restoration restored them. This is a huge frustration to the adversary. Covenants negate his power.
- Covenants put the lock on commandments.
- Covenants are brothers to the Lord’s commandments.
- Covenants are our friends.
- Covenants are our salvation.
- Covenants open the certainty of exaltation.
- Covenants are safety.
A life without covenants is a life without compass, helm, rudder, anchor, or helmsman. A life without covenants is driven by whims, winds, currents, fads, people’s opinions, and selfish desires.
- Covenants are an anchor.
- Covenants are a compass.
- Covenants are the helm and rudder.
- Covenants are a constant.
- Covenants are the quest of a lifetime.
- Covenants are the treasure for which we seek. We must not rest until we have made every covenant available to man. Our work thereafter is to keep them meticulously.
