Muddy Boots in the Temple – Fable
James’ Fables
There was once a farmer who was proud of, and gratified to be, a worker in the temple of the Lord. He felt special. He was in a special place, and doing special things. He was dressed all in white, a symbol of his worthiness.
One night he dreamed. He dreamed he was in the temple. He was standing where everyone passed by. He felt clean, polished, white, and shiny in his white coat, white tie, and white pants.
In his dream, the man looked down at his feet. He was horrified to see that he’d neglected to remove his muddy irrigation boots. Hiding wasn’t possible. It was too late for subterfuge. Everyone had seen him. Moving wasn’t possible without slinging mud everywhere. Imagine how he felt!
Application:
If your inner vessel is not cleansed,
you can take filth into holy places.
When brought to stand before the Lord,
how will you feel if not cleansed from your iniquity?
