My Blessed Life
I have been blessed with a long life filled with joy, love, service, and family. I have been blessed with the opportunity to make every covenant necessary to return me to God with my family. My life has not been one of hardship like that of many people in the world. Why?
The lives of my recent ancestors have also been joyful, though harder than mine. It has been my duty and privilege to research these lives and people and to provide the ordinances and temple work that will return them to God also. I believe that my choice lot in life was because of the covenants I made in pre-earth life with these people. I believe that my blessed life was given to put me in a position to enable me to accomplish this work. I have faithfully done it. I have seen to the ordinances of all my direct lines back as far as I can run them. I have done the work for all the grandparents of every generation, and also the work for all of their children and spouses. I have now located all of the grandchildren of my eight sets of great-great grandparents, and will shortly complete the temple work for them.
I’ve loved my life. I love my Savior. I cherish my covenants. I love my family. Never has there been a more blessed person than I.
My sister, Jean, passed away 16 months ago. Her name is shown as an “opportunity” on Family Search for me to do temple work. Being her sibling I could do her work without asking anyone’s permission. However, I feel that doing her work should be the privilege of one of her descendants. None of them are yet in a position to be able to do that, however, and she made it plain to me during her life that she wanted nothing to do with the Church. Therefore, I will not do her work at this time unless directed by her or by the Lord to do so.
I expect to outlive all of my siblings and their spouses except for Ellen. When all but she and I are gone, she and I will go to the temple together with my children. In one grand day we will do baptisms, confirmations, initiatories, endowments, and sealings for all of my siblings and their spouses. Ellen will receive her own endowment and sealings right along with them. I will then consider my work and purpose on earth completed and my promises fulfilled.
