My Favorite Season

I love to hear the rustle

Of the wind through autumn leaves,

And listen to the silence

Of the mountains through the haze.

There's a magic in the world today

Of which I am a part,

But the magic I love most of all

Is the feeling in my heart.

The sky is blue and cloudless,

The air lies soft and still.

The larches and the aspen

Glow yellow on the hill.

It was on an autumn day like this,

Fourteen years ago,

That our lives were joined as one—

Since then our love has grown.

I consider that I am

The luckiest of men:

Not only are you my wife

But also my best friend.

Fourteen years of happiness

With many more to come—

The fall of the year is

My favorite season.
