Died with severe dementia in daughter, Zelma's home. Also had pernicious anemia.

Cleon Simmons 24 Jul-1899-28 Apr 1986
Began dementia fall 1979. His dementia was rapid and very severe. Seven months before his
death he had a massive stroke from which he died. He had three daughters:
Norma, born 11 August 1926, died 30 September 2019 from Parkinson's Disease. Severe
dementia for 4-5 years. Norma had three daughters. Two of them have dementia, the other
not yet. The youngest, Lisa, is into dementia by 4 years, but also has Parkinson's Disease.
Marceen, born 29 January 1929, died 3 September 2006 from head injuries due to auto accident. Had already begun dementia.
Carol, born 25 April 1934, died 20 March 2011 from a stroke. Had begun dementia. No descendants, never married.

Jeaneen A. MacArthur Campbell, 3 October 1935-still living, in rest home with severe dementia. Began dementia at age 70. Has 4 adult children: a girl, age 66, a boy age 64, and twin boys age 62. None show dementia as yet, though Stuart, the youngest, says his ability to memorize is diminished. His twin had a stroke from which he is 90% recovered.

Zelma Simmons, 16 March 1906-7 May 1999 Began dementia about 10 years before death. Spent last 9 years in daughter, Marjorie's home. Last 5 years as a complete invalid.

Maretta Hunt Jones, 12 April 1934-30 December 2012. 9-10 years of dementia, died in rest home. Five children, none yet with dementia. Eldest died of cancer. Next is age 68. David James Hunt, 17 November 1938-29 March 2019, died of other causes, but had the beginnings of dementia, according to his own statement. Five children, none yet with dementia. Marjorie Shannon Hunt Kerns, 17 March 1948-still living. Four years into dementia. Scored 22 out of 30 on dementia test fall 2021. Scored 16 out of 30 on 23 March 2023. Neurologist rated her dementia as moderate. In January 2025 she can't follow a recipe, has no memory, can name her 10 children, can't name grandchildren, plays piano well, crochets, reads, cleans house, cares for self, and is very happy. 10 children ranging in age from 53 to 30. These are all very intelligent people, are worried about the possibility of developing dementia themselves, and would be happy to participate in studies.
