The Botched Responsibility
Following a local production, a stake Relief Society president was begged to allow the show to be performed at the stake level. After repeated pleadings, and perhaps against her better judgment, the president consented, and set a date. The beggar, though having good intentions, delayed telling her fellow performers. She informed them of the plans one week before the date. Lo, several were unavailable, the rest unprepared, and most declined the invitation.
The beggar informed a third party of the cancellation of plans.
The beggar quit answering the phone, and avoided the stake Relief Society president.
Many people were inconvenienced.
The husband of the president said and thought many unkind things about the beggar.
The beggar felt "stressed" and looked about for a hole to crawl into.
What did the president do? She took the woman a carnation and a hug.
