To See Ourselves as Others See Us
Following their ward conference, a Relief Society president led her presidency and the representative from the stake organization to the kitchen—that being the most available room in which they could meet in the busy meetinghouse. Upon arrival there, they found the room already occupied by the ward's Young Women presidency.
"What are you doing here?" the ward Relief Society president asked in a not kindly voice.
"This is the only room we could find to meet in," the Young Women president replied.
"Well, we set up the chairs," the Relief Society president retorted, "but never mind, we'll find somewhere else to meet!" —"Just wait 'til the next time the Young Women want something from us," she muttered to her presidency as they marched off down the hall.
In a short time the stake representative asked the ward Relief Society president for help in gathering faith-promoting stories about the female ancestors of the ward sisters for inclusion in an upcoming stake program.
"Oh, we've decided not to support that," the president said. "The program will be too long. Our emphasis is on including the Primary and Young Women workers in our activities. What we're after in this ward is unity."

Arranged just so, we become united;
Arranged not so, we become untied.
