We Thank Thee

To be sung to the tune of Hymn #337, "O Home Beloved"

We thank thee Lord for thy commandments,

The lamps that light the narrow way,

Our access to thy great atonement,

Our guides to help us through each day.

We thank thee for thy loving counsels,

We need not pass this way alone,

When we obey, thy peace surrounds us,

Thy words will lead us safely home.

We thank thee Lord for sacred cov’nants,

That bind us to thy holy name,

That keep us always in remembrance,

So that we thy presence may regain.

We thank thee for thy holy priesthood,

That makes our covenants secure,

That leads us into all that is good,

And helps us faithfully to endure.

We thank thee Lord for living prophets

Who speak thy will and word in power,

Whose voices are our greatest assets

As we approach earth's darkest hour.

How blessed are those who recognize them

As servants of the living God,

Who bear the keys of our salvation,

And point us toward the iron rod.
