What Has Jesus Done For Me?

I was asked in general conference to write a one-page summary of what the Savior has done for me.

He brought me from darkness into light.  I hadn't even known that I was in darkness.  The contrast is extreme.  Because of my rescue, the possibility exists that none of my posterity will ever experience that darkness.  I fervently pray that may be so.

Every one of my progenitors experienced that same darkness.  Because of Jesus Christ every one of my identifiable progenitors has now been brought into the light as well.  They rejoice as I do.

My Savior gave me the gift of repentance.  I use that gift.  It gives me peace of conscience.  It gives me hope.  It has opened the door to a brilliant future.

My Savior gave me ordinances and covenants which assure me of an eternity with Him and with my loved ones in a place of light, beauty, and never-ending happiness.

My Savior made me the centerpiece of a huge, happy family.  I normally despise being the center of attention, but in this case I relish the position.  My progenitors all looked to Christ for their deliverance, and to me as the one who could open the door to that possibility.  I am also the hinge upon which the happiness of my posterity turns.  My conversion ensured that each of my children, and that each of my grandchildren, would be born in the covenant and into light and promise.

My Savior gave me understanding; knowledge through the scriptures; the Holy Ghost to guide my daily walk; Priesthood Power to bless and serve those around me; opportunities to serve, learn, and grow; and incremental increases in my ability to do things and to eventually become like Him.

My Savior opened the way for my resurrection.  I'm going to possess this same magnificent body forever.  I have been rescued from hell, despair, and the power of the adversary.  I'm going to be forever with my Savior; with my wife; with my children; living in light, happiness, and joy; and having eternal increase, not only in posterity, but in every other aspect as well.
