For over fourteen hundred years

There wasn’t a soul on earth                                       Baptism

Who could be freed of fears and tears

Through baptism and rebirth.

 

In all that time not one soul

Received authority                                                      Priesthood

To make men and families whole,

And bind them eternally.                                            Sealings

 

That constant companionship,

The gift of the Holy Ghost,                                        The Gift of the Holy Ghost

From all mankind was stripped,

And had by none in all the host.

 

Just a few had the Bible,

And only a few could read;                                        Scripture

While all believed in fables,                                        Knowledge

Mankind’s strange, unsanctioned creeds.                   Truth

 

From Moroni to Joseph,

The ord’nances were missing—                                  Covenants and Ordinances

And so the question poses:

Why me, and all these blessings?
